The institute also provides education activities within the University of Central Florida (UCF) and other member institutions of the State University System of Florida.〔 ==History== The Florida Space Institute was established in 1996 as a research institute within the State University System of Florida. In 2012, the institute moved from the Kennedy Space Center to the Central Florida Research Park at UCF.〔 The move coincided with the end of the Space Shuttle Program in 2011.
